◇Award comments
"It is an honor and a proud moment to have received the Sustainability Award 2024 on behalf of Trust Auto Group.
We have adopted the applicable Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations. In South Africa we are confronted with challenges such as reliable electricity and water supply, a high unemployment rate, poverty, inequality, gender-based violence, government wastage, lack of municipal services etc. Our aim therefore is to curb poverty and inequality within our means, protect the environment, and ensure that all our people enjoy health and prosperity. It is critical that no one is left behind.
Our submission to the VT Group Sustainable Goal Committee shows and proved that TAG is contributing significantly towards these goals on an ongoing basis. The drive to be paperless in the administration and finance departments is on track with all vehicle deal files being digital instead of the old paper files holding documents. Service Departments will follow suite in due course.
Installation of further solar power, waste management control and upliftment of our team members will take priority during the coming year. We have taken the initiative to start educating our team members on sustainability, corporate governance and equality through our newsletters.
Going forward we will be building on these initiatives and hopefully contribute positively towards a healthier environment for all."
